This summer Milk & Honey Market and Two Gander Farm are partnering to create Summer in the City Honey — the sweet harvest from the hard work of urban dwelling honey bees. But we can’t do this in our back yard alone — we need you! If you have access to your roof or a back yard in West Philly or Center City you can host a hive

Trey Flemming of Two Gander Farm will bring your hive to your site in early May (placing it so that your kids, your pets and your neighbors won’t be bothered) and visit it every three weeks or so to make sure all is well. By the end of June he will remove it. All you have to do is enjoy the fascinating work of your early summer guests as they do what they do best, pollinate the gardens of Philadelphia and make delicious honey.

When harvested, the honey will be available at Milk & Honey Market and wherever Two Gander Farm honey is sold. A portion of profits will benefit The Orchard Project and all hive hosts will receive two pints of fresh Summer in the City Honey.
